Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoon minced pickled jalapenos
  • 1 tablespoon pickled jalapeno juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder increase if you love it spicy
  • 1/2 cup Water optional—add if you prefer a thinner consistency

Instructions

Combine the Base

  • In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth. This forms the creamy base that helps balance out the spice.

Add Jalapenos and Seasonings

  • Stir in the minced pickled jalapenos, pickled jalapeno juice, and all the spices (paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder). Mix until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Check the Consistency

  • If you’d like a thinner sauce—maybe for drizzling—add 1 teaspoon of water. Stir and continue adding a teaspoon at a time until it reaches the consistency you desire.

Chill and Serve

  • Place the sauce in the fridge for at least 1 hour to let the flavors develop. When ready, taste-test a small spoonful and adjust spice levels to your liking. Enjoy it in your favorite tacos or as a dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

One serving would be 2 tablespoons. This makes about 6 servings, more if you prefer a runnier texture (just add a teaspoon or more of water until it reaches your preferred consistency).
